About us

Hi, I'm George, I began making Jewelery in 1964 as a teenager on my own. I studied it in high-school and later attended Edinboro College in Pennsylvania. I left one year before graduation because no courses other than student teaching were left for me to take and I was intent on setting out on my own and opening my own jewelry shop.

I moved to San Francisco in 1969 and found a position as a goldsmith in a shop called the Arachnid in Berkeley where I worked until I opened my own shop in 1974.

I became involved in the Bay Area art scene and entered and judged several art shows. I attracted enough attention to gain the backing required to open a shop on North Point Street in the Marina district of San Francisco. The shop prospered and after three years, I was invited to open a shop in the newly opening Pier 39 complex.

Pier 39 was originally intended as a showcase for artists who had their workshops open to the public. The artists were to get a discounted rate for their rents but as the complex struggled to make a profit it was sold and expenses skyrocketed. During this time I met a wonderful woman, Suzan who was the sister of my shop manager. I married her and we decided to close the shop on Pier 39 and move to Truckee with our two daughters Tami and Kristi.

Suzan has always been an artist so it was natural for her to become a design goldsmith. She has been very successful and has a very strong following of devoted customers and collectors of her work.

We do a tour of select Highland Games during the summer months where you can see us and our work in person.

We do not have a shop that is set up for walk in sales in Truckee. We can arrange to meet customers in town to discuss projects if needed though. The best way to see our work is to visit us at one of the Scottish Highland games where we show our work .

These include The Sacramento games in Woodland the end of April, The Costa Mesa games the end of May, The San Diego Games in Vista near the end of June, The Seattle games the end of July, the San Francisco games in Pleasanton the first weekend of September, and the Longs Peak games in Estes Park the second weekend of September.

We work with customers from all over, and send our creations to most of the world. As long as we can communicate, work out payment, and shipping; we are good.

We prefer to ship via USPS. We send pieces registered or with tracking and insurance. Prices vary depending on the size weight and value of the item we ship; but we do our best to keep shipping costs reasonable.,, If you are an international customer please check into what fees will be added to the price of your purchase as well as limits on the amount we can insure your piece for.

  • Cheers! George & Suzan
