Special order jewelry designs by Postgate. https://postgatejewelers.com/

Special order jewelry designs, are at least half of the jewelry that we make and sell. Here are some pieces we've made for customers to give you an idea of the things we make, and can make for you.

Custom sizing:

We can always make you something new, and custom made just for you. Some custom orders are placed just because of sizing. Our rings are made in increments of one 1/8th of a size for a perfect fit, that is just about 1/32 of an inch.

Special order jewelry: Materials and options

We use recycled gold and silver for almost all of our jewelry. Our refiner has indicated that 24K is not recycled but all of their other gold alloys are. Almost any stones that you desire are available through us. If you want a beautiful Australian black opal or an alexandrite set into one of our creations, we can do it for you. More about our materials:https://postgatejewelers.com/materials-we-use-to-make-our-jewelry/

You may order pieces in 14K white, yellow, or rose gold. In 18K white or yellow gold or 22k yellow gold. Prices will reflect your choice.

Shipping and delivery estimates are for when we will ship. This is only a good guess. If you need your piece by a certain date please let us know, and we will do our best for you.

Special order jewelry, Waxes:

We have information on how our jewelry is made on our waxes page: https://postgatejewelers.com/waxes/

You can see examples of pieces when they are still in wax as well as gain insight on how the jewelry is made. See how the waxes of our jewelry look compared to the finished pieces they become. This will give you an idea of how we work with customers and what they see when they order a piece from us.

FaceBook:

We have a wide selection of our work on FaceBook. Some pieces are shown in various stages of completion. When we do a special piece for a customer we often send them image of waxes. This makes it easier for them to understand what we are doing. It also allows us to work together and insure the creation of something special: https://www.facebook.com/Postgate-Fine-Jewelers-111540785537658/photos/?view_public_for=111540785537658&ref=page_internal

Special order jewelry, 14D our white gold:

White gold, the differences between palladium and common Nickel gold alloys: We only use palladium white gold now because it is superior to common white gold in several ways. Find out why here: https://postgatejewelers.com/materials-we-use-to-make-our-jewelry/

We can send most orders in six weeks or less. More original designs and complex ones can be sent out within six months. This can vary of course, some orders that we have done have taken years. If you need your piece by a certain date please let us know, and we will do our best for you.

Special order, Commissioning a new piece of jewelry:

Before you place a special order, make sure that you like our work. Everything that we make will have our personal style in it. I've referred to (movements?) in art as styles on our other pages, Art Deco, Celtic, or Woodland, for example.  Here, I mean something more personal. That something, is just the way we think about design and form that that is fundamental. We mean our experience of art and our concept good design that guides our hands as we create. Make sure that you are OK with our taking a bit of artistic license in interpreting your wishes. We will work with you as we make your piece so that you can take part in its creation. Making our customers happy is job number 1 for us. We are very honored when someone commissions us and we always do our best to exceed your expectations.

Computer aided design ( Cad Cam )

If you have a design that you need reproduced exactly, you should consider CAD CAM. We can help you in this but be clear when you are ordering. Cad Cam pieces are computer creations, not hand made ones. These pieces are very exact. This is a good way to have many copies of a design made or if you wish to reproduce a design exactly. Cad Cam is also a great way to make versions of a design in different sizes.

Contact us:

Contact us and explain your project, email is best ( postgate@postgatejewelers.com ). We can keep your information and images for later reference. I also like email because you can print out our emails and make them part of your jewelry's story. We will respond with estimates and perhaps a quick sketch or wax to get things going. We can't really spend a lot of time working out your design before we receive a deposit of course. I usually develop a wax for my customers to allow them to give me their feedback. This is a great way for me make sure that they will love their new treasure.

Stones

We are willing to work with customers' stones. Please understand that we will not guarantee them against damage or even loss. We treat customer's stones with the same care as our own, but there are things that can go wrong. A woman once sent quite a few diamonds to us. There was a ring box in the package that contained several stones and a couple of pieces to break up. I threw the bubble wrap packing away that the box had been wrapped in. Later, I re-read my customer's note and I realized that we seemed several diamonds short? We checked our trash and the discarded bubble wrap. A clear plastic bag of diamonds was hidden in the bubble wrap completely concealed. The bag was clear, and so the diamonds and bag were almost invisible. Luckily, the trash was to be picked up later that day, it could have been a very sad situation. Anything that you send us is at your own risk. Oh, I promise to inspect the wrapping better, but please make it easy for us.

Payments

We accept partial payments especially on commissions, but please pay us off within a year unless we make other arrangements. We take payment via PayPal only. PayPal is safe and secure. There is no need to share any financial data with us. We will send you an invoice and you can pay in full or make a payment on a commission in progress. There are no refunds on custom orders. We will work with you if you've ordered a stock item if we can.

Please check our feedback on Face Book, or Etsy, you will see that we have a great record keeping our customers very satisfied.

Delivery: Most commissions are completed within 3 weeks to 6 months or less. Some will take much longer. The 18K Celtic choker with emeralds and diamonds, for example, takes about a year to reproduce.
