Irish Flower Cross, one of her many flower inspired pieces. Suzan was a floral designer when I met her and she has always been an accomplished artist. Her floral designs are now arrangements in precious metals and stones. This small cross is one of her creations that is sure to delight its owner for many years. Irish Flower Cross, Details:

Suzan Created the cross using a process that we call" build up." It is very much like making a painting. She used a small gauge wire tool like a brush. First heating it in a flame and then touching it to a block of special wax. The tool picked up a droplet of wax that was then used much like paint, to draw the flowers. Since melted wax hardens when allowed to cool, it can be used to make three dimensional shapes. Drop by drop flower after flower, she has "painted" the cross in wax. The wax was then cast in silver and finished, soon to grace the neck of some lucky woman or girl. The cross measures 1 1/4 X 1," an 18" chain is included.

Custom orders:

You may order Suzan's Irish Flower Cross in bright or oxidized silver. Brightly finished crosses will slowly oxidize in time. You can even control the process a bit by gently wiping the cross with a soft cloth occasionally. The raised parts of the design will remain bright and recessed details will darken.  We have a page that explains more about custom orders.
