Mans Amethyst Celtic Ring in 14D white and 18K gold
The Mans Amethyst Celtic Ring is an original design by George Postgate. I made the ring especially for Christopher B.
Many of you have seen images of the wax and unfinished casting of this ring so now, you get to see how the mans Celtic ring with its amazing amethyst came out.
Mans Amethyst Celtic Ring Details:
Celtic knot-work that transforms into an abstract thistle is the premise of the rings design, It is a size 13. The ring was hand carved in wax, cast in 18K yellow gold and hand carved again in the metal. An African, natural square faceted amethyst is set in the ring's center. The stone measures 10 X 10m, its color is a deep, but bright purple with flashes of blues and reds. The cut of the stone is excellent as is it's clarity.
Variations:
I've made a similar design with beautiful garnets and an iolite as well. This ring is a beautiful mans power ring regardless of any stone that is set in it. I can recess the stone deeper into the setting to protect more fragile stones like opals. We also have a version set with a rectangular stone.
I hope that you have enjoyed the ring's journey from wax to finish. I've started suggesting that my customers print out our convos about their commissions as well, so that they can remember and relate their special piece's creation to their children, who may in time, inherit them.
