Aquamarine Victorian pendant by George
Aquamarine Victorian pendant, A one of a kind piece. The aquamarine is set in an 18 K gold Victorian setting made specially for it. As you can see from the images of the stone unset, it isn't flawless. A skilled gem cutter has almost hidden all of the stone's rutile inclusions with the exception of the one near the stone's center. While it couldn't be hidden, he or she, did cut the stone so that you see the inclusion on its edge, making the rutile almost invisible. The setting was first carved in wax and then cast in 18K yellow gold to perfectly fit the 11.95ct, 16.5mm X 11mm Santa Maria aquamarine. George designed the setting so that the stone can be seen through openings in its sides as well as from its front. It is designed so that the stone rests close to the tops of the curls of gold that make it up, four tall prongs to secure it. The result is that you get to see the stone in all of its beauty. A chain is not included but you may order one in just about any link style and length. The chains that we carry are top quality Italian chains. The setting was finished by hand. The natural 11.95 ct aquamarine has about the best color you will ever see. Stones of this quality are very rare. You may order This setting for any any type of stone that is close to the aquamarine in shape and size. An amethyst or Garnet, for example would look great in it and would cost much less. It is available in 14, 18, 22K and in rose, white and yellow gold. We have a page that explains more about custom orders.
