Arts and Crafts amethyst ring

Zambian fine amethysts

The center amethyst is a cushion cut stone. It has exceptional medium dark color. Two pear shaped faceted stones of the same color are set on either side of it. Our stones came from Zambia which is said to be the source of the finest amethysts. Openings in the setting around the center stone provide windows through which the stones can be seen and their color can play upon the gold-work of the design.

The Arts and Crafts amethyst ring has given me a chance to make an Arts and Crafts style piece. Arts and Crafts has always been on of my favorite design movements. Making this ring has been a pleasure, as well as an artistic adventure.

Variations:

There are a few other stones like garnets or blue topaz that might look great in this setting. Wonder if I could find peridots that would fit??? The Arts and Crafts amethyst ring is also available in 14K rose, white, or yellow gold as well as in 18K yellow gold as a custom order.
