Large Scottish Greenman ring in Sterling silver by Suzan Postgate

Details:

This Greenman ring is large, it is almost 1 inch at its widest, and it tapers to 1/3 of an inch at the back of the ring. This ring can be made in any size and also can be made without the boarders which makes it 1/4 of an inch narrower. Each ring is a little different and can also be made without a patina.

Variations:

The ring can be made in gold as well as in silver. The ring shown doesn’t have stones set into it but you can order a special version with stones set into its eyes and even into the leaves that surround its face. Almost any size is available, but this is a very large ring, and is better in a size 9 or larger. I have included some images of the ring with different patinas, as well as one that is bright silver for your comparison. The bright silver will darken with age. Wiping the ring once in a while will keep polished surfaces remain bright while letting details darken.

The Greenman is the keeper and protector of the forest and all of its creatures, he symbolizes rebirth and renewal. This ancient god has not changed in centuries and is portrayed in many churches and meeting places across the world and is embraced by almost every culture.
