Magnolia and flower Mackintosh necklace by Suzan Postgate
Magnolia and flower Mackintosh necklace by Suzan Postgate. A necklace of silver magnolia tree links that are separated by silver three flower links. Amethyst briolettes dangle from the links flashing purple as they move. The necklace's design was influenced by the creations of Rennie and Margaret Mackintosh. Rennie and his Margaret are two of the most loved Scottish artists of all time. They are considered part of the "Arts and Crafts " movement, as well as Art Nouveau artists. Their creations are too numerous to recount here, so follow this link to learn more: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Rennie_Mackintosh
The necklace is made of sterling silver magnolia tree links whose trunks and leaves have been woven into classic Art Nouveau knots. The trees trunks are topped with bunches of magnolias. Triangular shaped smaller links each filled with three flowers, each are set in between the Magnolia links. Briolettes of fine natural amethysts dangle from each of the links. The necklace is 18″ in length. It was hand made and designed by Suzan. It’s a delicate looking necklace that is actually very sturdy for its size. The links are approximately 1 1/2″ X 3/4″ and 1″ X 1/2″ in size. You may order the Magnolia and flower Mackintosh inspired necklace in almost any Length. It is available in 14K, 18K, 22K and in 14K rose, white and yellow gold. The necklace would be stunning in gold and not too expensive to consider. The necklace is a great design for small stones.
