Celtic knot opal pendant  details:

The pendant was made by hand and is made of 14K yellow gold. The pendant was hand carved and built up in wax, cast in 14K gold and finished by hand. The pendant is approximately 40mm X 25mm in size including it's bale. I've made pendants similar to this one in several sizes for stones of different sizes, both cabochon and faceted.

The pendant is set with an exceptional Australian natural opal. The stone is a fine example of a "pinfire" opal. This type of opal is filled with little specks of bright colors most of which are no larger than the head of a pin. This stone exhibits mostly of blues, reds, and greens that flash and move as you look at it. The stone weighs 4.08cts, and is approximately 15 X 10mm in size. This opal is one of the nicest that I’ve had the pleasure of setting. The stone goes from being a dynamic display of intense flashing colors To mostly Green, Gold, or Red depending on the position of the stone and light source. The stone displays rolling flashes of solid colors or mixes of colors. I could go on and on. It is a very exceptional stone and it is very hard to put down. It is very beautiful and a photo just doesn't do it justice.
