Victorian Black Opal pendant, Details:

The setting was first carved in wax and then cast in gold. I finished the setting with graver, files, abrasives; and finally polish. I designed the setting so that the stone is given some protection and is set off by the curls of gold that surround it. The pendant is approximately 1″ tall by 5/8ths" in width or 25X15mm. The Opal is a fine oval black opal from Lightning ridge it weighs approximately 0.85cts.
