Alexandrite Viking Gripping Beast Ring in White and Yellow Gold Size 7.25, https://postgatejewelers.com

The Alexandrite Viking Gripping Beast Ring is an original design by George Postgate.  The ring is entirely made by hand. The design of the ring was inspired by the gripping beast carvings on the famous Viking long boat that was discovered in Norway in the 1800’s and now resides in its own museum in Oslo. The gripping beasts of the ring flow through the ring’s design and even help to secure the stone.

Details:

The center portion of the ring is a garland of linked gripping beasts. They were sculpted first in wax and then in the metal, after being cast in18K yellow gold. The sides of the ring give contrast, and some protection to the details and setting in the ring’s center. They are made of 14K palladium white gold. This alloy is the same color throughout and never needs plating. This alloy will not harm persons with nickle allergies. Nickle is the alloy used in most other white gold alloys. To learn more about palladium white gold and why it is much better than common white gold please click here: http://technical-articles.hooverandstrong.com/wordpress/do-chemicals-affect-your-gold/ The center stone is a very rare natural alexandrite. The stone has very good clarity as well as a strong color change, going from a pleasing medium green to a medium purple. The stone weighs 0.58 cts
