The Ceylon Sapphire Celtic Ring: These rings are original designs by George Postgate who also made them. They were hand carved in wax and then in the metal once cast. The rings have been designed to show off their stones from every angle. There are openings in the knot-work that become windows showing the sides, of the stones and their pavilions. The result is a setting that takes full advantage of the beauty and color of the stones within. At the same time the setting gives them good protection. The setting is also exceptionally smooth and comfortable it will easily fit gloves and pockets without a snag. There are no prongs to catch or loosen either.
The sapphire ring is made of 14K palladium white gold, now marked 14D. A very fine 2.16ct natural faceted blue sapphire from Ceylon is the center stone.
