Pink Sapphire Flower Band in 18K, One of my latest floral themed bands. I started making sculptural flower bands and other plant inspired designs, in the 60’s. I’ve been working to perfect them ever since. I’m always trying to show the joy I get from nature’s works, permanent in my jewelry some way. Creating a floral piece that will stand up to normal wear, and still be delicate looking is a challenge. Making the design flow and resonate with the beauty of nature is a great, and perhaps impossible challenge. My hope is that our designs hold your attention, and invite you to explore their mysteries. This is a flower band that I hope will bring its owner a lifetime of pleasure. Worn with reasonable care this band will become a family heirloom. Pink Sapphire Flower Band, Details:
I’ve carved an intricate lace of vines and leaves with meandering flowers growing along its middle. The petals of the flowers are fairly smooth, in their centers are small faceted pink sapphires. The insides of the band’s edges are reinforced to give the band good strength. The band was hand carved in wax, and then in the 18K gold after it was cast. The flowers are been set with 9 small natural pink, brilliant cut sapphires that have a combined weight of 0.27cts
