Black Opal Flower Ring

Details:

It measures approximately 11 X 7mm, and is oval in shape. The diamonds in the centers of the nine flowers around the opal are very high quality. Each diamond measures approximately 1.8mm and is VS G-H inclarity and color. Leaves, vines and even flower petals serve as the prongs that secure the opal within its bouquet
of beautiful flowers. This ring was first  hand carved in wax, and then cast in 18k gold.

A black opal flower ring that I made many years ago left me feeling that I might not find another stone that I liked as much. Finally I found the stone that has given me a chance to make a new black opal flower ring, and one that I like as much I started making floral theme jewelry about 1970 and I still get a lot of pleasure out of these designs. Even though I have made many of them I am always captivated by the challenge of trying to bring the beauty I find in nature to pieces of fine jewelry.
