Scottish silver thistle ring: This is a great ring for those who want a special ring to show their love of all things Scottish. The ring has a Scottish thistle which is also the national flower of Scotland. It is credited with saving the Scots from the Danes who were sneaking up on the sleeping Scots one dark night. The invaders would have defeated them if one of the Danes hadn’t stepped on a thistle. The unfortunate fellow gave out a loud cry  and awakened the sleeping Scots allowing them to defeat the Danes. Scottish silver thistle ring, Details:

The ring was designed and made in sterling silver by Suzan Postgate. It was first carved in wax by hand and then cast in silver. The ring is a size 11, the face of the ring is 15 X 27 mm in size. The thistle and knot-work are carved in relief. In time, the background will darken and those details will stand out even more. If the ring is wiped with a soft cloth once in a while the raised details will remain bright. The background will darken and the ring will look better as it ages.
