Many of our designs are inspired by designs carved into the prow and stern of an ancient Viking Long-ship from about, 900 AD. We have used sources like the ship to guide our designs. Here is its story:
The ship was found in a farmer’s field in 1880 it ship had been used for the burial of someone who was obviously very important. Twelve horses and six dogs were among the contents of the ship when it was buried. The ship was 76’ long by 17’ wide with a 40’ mast. It had 16 oars on each side. This type of ship was used to transport up to 70 persons or 16 tons of cargo. It was also very effective in warfare as it could navigate very shallow waters.
I liked the designs on the ship because they are distinctly Viking and they have the raw power and belief in the gods of old still in them.
