Highland Deer Pendant in gold. A Stag and Doe graze among the flowers in a woodland scene of gold. This very special pendant was commissioned by George's older brother, John as special gift for his wife Mary in celebration of their 53rd wedding anniversary. We have made 4 so far. Each pendant is an original, slightly different in various ways from the others. The changes include gold color and stones, as well as slight changes in the design's details. So far I've set it with diamonds, alexandrites, sapphires. Details:

I carved the pendant first in wax, and then cast it in gold. The deer are made of 18K and the woodland frame is made of 14K. This makes a nice contrast between the deer and their surroundings. They appear to almost glow. The pendant is 1 5/8” in height by 1.” wide. Eight small diamonds are set in the flowers that encircle the deer, one additional diamond is set in the bale. The diamonds range in size from 1.7mm to 1.5mm. They are G-H in color and are approximately Vs in clarity. Three sapphires are set in the pendants' bottom and one is set in the unusual bale that I made specially for this pendant. All of the stones are natural. The sapphires are native cut brilliants with a combined weight of approximately 0.50cts. The sapphires have exceptionally fine color, they are beautiful stones, but they do have some fairly hard to locate, flaws.
