The Large Lion’s head Pendant in 14 K is a fine example of the work that I was doing in the 70s and 80’s. It remains one of my favorite pieces, made in 1978. I studied lion heads for quite a while before I made it. I wanted him to be noble beautiful and a little bit scary, he is a lion after all. My lion’s head not only has teeth but you can see the taste little barbs on his tongue.

Details:
I made a wax wire open structure that formed the head’s interior. I then held my wire waxing tool on its side and filled in the caps between wires with a sheet of hot liquid wax. Once the wax cooled I added more wax and details. The pendant is approximately 2.5″ tall and weighs about 2.5 oz. It is entirely hand sculpted. The chain is not included. We can give you a choice of high quality chains in just about any link style, or length at a good price. A sterling silver version of our lion’s head pendant will weigh less than 2/oz. We can finish the head in a bright finish or in an oxidized one.
Orders:
I sold our large lion’s head in 2019 although I can make you a new one. Gold was $35.00/oz when I made him and now I think that it will soon reach $2000/oz. I can make him in sterling silver for about $1000 now. If you order one of these you can specify the stones that I set into his eyes. I can also include a chain if you want to order one with your lion. You can also order it as a brooch or a combination brooch/pendant.
